You’re not alone. At Post Carbon Institute and resilience.org we\u2019ve heard from thousands of people around the world with big questions and great ideas. That\u2019s why over the coming months we\u2019re looking to provide our community with opportunities to connect with one another.<\/p>
On June 21, 2025 we\u2019ll be hosting an online ‘Open Space<\/a>‘ event for a small group of Resilience+ members. <\/strong>We\u2019re intentionally keeping this first event small (100 people at most) in order to ensure that we can create\u2014with you, our community\u2014a space for supportive, respectful, and valuable interaction. If you\u2019re interested in participating, you will need to complete a short application.<\/p> The application period for participating in this event is closed. The theme or focus of this first open space event will be: \u201cNavigating the Great Unraveling: How to Be and What to Do.\u201d Any participant can nominate topics for discussion, as long as they fit with the overall theme of the event and, via a deliberative process the agenda for the event will be agreed. Because this event will be held virtually, sessions will take place in Zoom breakout rooms. Resilience+ facilitators will be available to help and provide initial guidance for determining topics to be discussed, but <\/span>these conversations and explorations will be yours<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p> Open Space has been used by community groups, companies, government agencies, and networks like the <\/span>Transition Network<\/span><\/a> for decades. <\/span>See here to learn more<\/span><\/a> about Open Space. <\/span><\/p> The Resilience+ Community is for anyone looking for connection, support, or collaboration with others who are also trying to navigate the unraveling of environmental and social systems, and to build personal and community resilience. For the first Open Space event, we\u2019re looking for a diverse group of people who have ideas to share or topics they\u2019d like to explore, and who wish to help us build a community grounded in honesty, humility, curiosity, and active listening. <\/span><\/p> Because space for this first event is so limited and because we want to ensure the best possible experience for all, we are asking people to share a little about themselves and why they would like to participate, and to sign up for a pre-event active listening session. If you are selected to join, we will follow up with more details. If you aren\u2019t selected for this first event, don\u2019t worry!
