From unavoidable sea-level rise to the economic and social upheaval driven by the crossing of planetary boundaries and the energy transition, it\u2019s clear there will be no smooth transformation to a bright-green new order. How can we grapple with\u2014and talk about\u2014the reality that our ecological, economic, and social systems are rapidly changing in some frightening ways beyond our control? What should we do in our families, our communities, our nation?<\/div>\n<p>Each day featured a new, original essay from one of four invited contributors: investigative journalist <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dahrjamail.net\/\">Dahr Jamail<\/a>, sociologist and community activist <a href=\"http:\/\/meghankallman.com\/activism\">Meghan Kallman<\/a>, poet <a href=\"https:\/\/blackearthinstitute.org\/staff\/2171\/\">Taylor Brorby<\/a>, and renowned indigenous rights advocate <a href=\"http:\/\/www.honorearth.org\/\">Winona LaDuke<\/a>. The first week featured their responses to the topic; the second week featured their reactions to\u2014and inspirations sparked by\u2014each other&#8217;s essays.
